THIS ISN’T A STORY ABOUT HAVING IT ALL FIGURED OUT.

It’s about becoming someone, losing pieces of yourself, becoming someone else… and realizing you don’t have to go back to who you were. You get to decide who you become next.

So, before I ask you to trust me…

I would love to share my story of how I found myself as a accountability coach.

Chapter One – inner child

Can you see it in my eyes?

My inner bad ass. Dirt bikes has always held my heart, and that still holds true today.

But we will circle back to this..

chapter two – the body

I started exercising to become a better rider. Going to the gym became ritual. I hired a personal trainer and decided it would be a better investment to just pay for college and be my own trainer. So that’s what I did. Years into my training routine I met someone at the gym who said “you would do really good in body building” The invitation opened a door to a world of praise yet secret survival.

I became a world qualified athlete as my own trainer.

Paralleling this time line, racing my dirtbike across BC and into the USA. Life was fun, felt effortless. started teaching fitness classes and working with other athletes one on one. The era of “hustle for the muscle”

this version of me -Lessons

Shrink yourself = success.
Restriction = discipline.
Exhaustion = commitment.
More = better.
Rest = weakness.
Control = confidence.
Pushing through = strength.

Oddly this was all okay because the fitness world nurtured these twisted mindsets towards health.

I was no longer on a mission to become the strongest version of myself on a motorcycle. I was setting myself up to stand before a row of judges who I gave permission and the power to rank my worth against other women.

Talk about sisterhood wounds.

Chapter three – the accident

April 16th 2016

Like any other weekend. I got a text “Wanna go have a fire on the mud flats?”

The most dramatic plot twist of my life. I was a passenger of a head on car accident on the gravel road headed to the lake. The Dr’s told me I would never ride again, and lets just focus on walking. My entire right side of my body was effected from my skull to my pelvis.

My Era of Rehabilitation.

I didn’t know how to move through my emotions so I ate them.

The chapter of eating disorders still breaks my heart.

It was a 5 year cycle I couldn’t seem to break. Binging, to purging. I wasn’t dumb I knew the amount of calories I was eating being stuck in a wheel chair was going to cause weight gain because I was previously so active yet I couldn’t stop myself and hit the panic button shoving a tooth brush down my throat trying to correct my actions.

I was stuck in my own personal hell loop that no one knew about.

Chapter Four – Grief

I was grieving a old version of me. One that could do 37 pull ups but now could hardly brush her own teeth. I was lost in my own souls darkness. There was a point in my life where the grief became heavier than I knew how to carry. I remember having a day where I didn’t want to be here anymore. That is hard for me to put into words, even now. Not because it isn’t part of my story — but because it was a version of me I barely recognize today. I was hurting. I was lost. And for a moment, I couldn’t see past the pain I was in. But that wasn’t the end of my story.

Looking back, I don’t see that woman as weak.

I see a woman who was hurting deeply and didn’t yet know how to find her way back to herself.

Nothing changed until I spoke my truth.

I found Kyla Gagnon, who owns a Breathwork community. She reminded me to come home to my body in a different capacity. A remembering of who I am. I started by sitting in the forests. Listening to the nature and connecting to my life force within. At this point were years past the initial accident I had left Vancouver and moved to the north with my Husband. Honestly I was lonely, he was working in camp and I was hanging with a crowd where drugs were being handed out like a candy store. By day I strived to be “healthy” learning about mindset/personal growth and by night I numbed my life out. Cocaine was my new binge eating but at least now I wasn’t over eating.

Chapter five – Motherhood

Eventually, I reached a point where I had to make a choice. I chose motherhood. Before I became a mom, I made the decision to walk away from the drugs and go through the hard process of detoxing my body and rebuilding my life.

But for the first time in a long time, I was choosing a future instead of an escape.

Looking back now, the drugs taught me something I couldn’t see at the time:

You can numb pain, but you can’t heal it that way.

Eventually, what hurts asks to be felt. To be seen & acknowledged.

And what is lost asks to be found.

I make giant babies. my son was 11.7lbs

Welcoming Hunter Anthony to the world. I felt like I didn’t recognize myself anymore but it didn’t matter because I had a new purpose in life. Being mom and loving my little boy with all my heart. The Era of ” I don’t give a f*ck what my body looks like, Look at what I made!”

Back to back miscarriage’s

This chapter broke my heart in ways I cant even put words to. With life comes death and I believe my babies were to beautiful for earth.

Simultaneously my “girlfriend” group could not handle my expression in grief and 4 women who I called my besties in the north walked away. I found myself alone again.

Welcoming Baby #2

The final piece to our families puzzle. I was so grateful I got to bring our rainbow baby home.

My blue eyed brown hair baby girl.

Dr. weighed me in at 260lbs before delivery and after my C-section I was 245lbs. The biggest number I had ever seen on a scale. Remembering my competition weight was 109lbs on stage.

I remember feeling disappointed in myself. Like a prisoner in my own body – and I created the cage.

Chapter Six – mindset

re-writing my life with a new perspective.

Hunter was turning three. I realized it was time to teach him how to ride a dirtbike. There was just one problem… I hadn’t been on a bike in nearly a decade. For years, I had carried the doctors’ words with me: “You’ll never ride again.” Somewhere along the way, their opinion became my truth. I stopped questioning it. I wasn’t dreaming about racing again. I just knew I didn’t want to be the mom standing on the sidelines watching everyone else live the life I loved.

And for the first time, I stopped asking whether I could ride like I used to. Instead, I asked myself a different question:

What if I was simply grateful to ride at all?

Hunter was the reason I got back on a bike. But what I didn’t realize this was going to be the Era where I reclaimed my spark.

My love for life.

Chapter seven – business the throttle sisterhood.

I started a kids’ riding and racing program so they could meet other families who shared the same passion. What I didn’t expect was what it would give me. Through the races, muddy gear bags, and countless km’s of trails, I found my Sisters of the North. The women who understand mud and motherhood.

And as I spent more time around these incredible women, I noticed something. So many of us were still at the bottom of our own lists. We showed up for everyone else. Our kids. Our partners. Our families. But when it came to our own dreams, adventures, and passions, they were often the first things sacrificed.

That’s when Throttle Sisterhood became something bigger than a clothing brand that united us. I founded the Throttle Sisterhood Adventure Awaits Association to help support and sponsor women riders in Northern BC because I believe adventure is some of the best medicine this lifetime has to offer.

Because every woman deserves something that makes her feel alive. Something that reminds her who she is. We are the women who live with our hearts wide open to match our throttles.

no dream is to big.

What our team has accomplished.

Sent a beginner rider to Meg Braps Clinic in Pemberton BC. A Kid won a brand new bike end of the racing series as a award. Sent 4 riders to Vancouver island to Mudhunniez Moto Fest. Supported 8 riders to travel across the world to ride Enduro Portugal for a week experience.

The more I gave back the bigger my spark became.

Chapter 8 – Nurturing my spark

If there’s one thing my journey has taught me, it’s that life rarely unfolds the way we imagine it will.

I’ve been an athlete.
A bodybuilder.
A wife.
A mother.
A rider.
An entrepreneur.
A woman rebuilding herself more than once.

I’ve experienced incredible highs and some very dark lows.

I’ve carried grief.
And I still carry chronic pain today.

Chronic pain is part of my life. It doesn’t have to determine my life. These days, I don’t measure success by trophies, titles, or the number on a scale. I measure it by how I show up. The small choices. The quiet moments. The promises I keep to myself.

I’ve learned that resilience isn’t about never falling apart. It’s about choosing to keep creating your life, one day at a time. Because no matter what happens to us, we still get a say in what we create from it. We are all artists of our own reality. And every day, in big ways and small, I choose to nurture my spark.
